The City of Destin’s 40th Annual Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 10 a.m.
“This year’s committee chose a theme that brings together the spirit of our City’s 40th Birthday of being incorporated,” said Tamara Young, Public Information Director, “and it couldn’t be a more fun, lively theme. We’re taking it back to the ‘80s; specifically, FLASHBACK TO 1984!”.
Floats will start at Destin Methodist Church (located at 200 Beach Drive), travel down Beach Drive, and travel west down Harbor Blvd. (Hwy 98) to Stahlman Avenue. For safety and control reasons, bystanders are asked to stand on the north side of Harbor Blvd. to watch the floats.
For those who wish to have a float in the parade, applications are available at the Destin Community Center. In lieu of an entry fee, it is requested that each entry donate one of the following: new toys, personal products (i.e., cologne or perfume), or a monetary donation. Donations are due no later than December 6th.
This is the same deadline for applications, which can be dropped off in person, faxed to 850-654-8998, or emailed to Recreation@cityofdestin.com.
