Auditions for NFB Company, Trainee & Pre-Professional Program Scheduled for May 13

Auditions for the Northwest Florida Ballet (NFB) Company, Trainee and Pre-Professional Program (PPP) will take place on May 13, at the main studio building in downtown Fort Walton Beach. Trainee auditions will take place from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and auditions for the PPP and Company programs will be conducted from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Company auditions are open to students entering the eighth grade and up with no less than six years of formal ballet training and two years of pointe experience for female dancers. NFB’s Trainee program is designed for sixth-grade students with no less than three years of formal ballet training. The PPP audition is open to any student in the community entering the ninth through twelfth grades who have at least six years of formal ballet training. Female dancers must have two years on pointe.

The NFB Company performs two to three mainstage productions at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center and free outdoor performances in South Walton County each season. NFB employs several professional dancers and international guest artists with advanced level dancers from the NFB Académie and PPP comprising the corps de ballet and apprentice levels.

The PPP is a collaborative effort between the Okaloosa County School District and Northwest Florida Ballet, offering high school students the opportunity to receive professional dance training alongside their academic studies. Students who complete the Program will receive eight fine art credits for their high school diploma over four years.

NFB Company, Trainee and PPP auditions are by reservation only and require a fee of $25. Registrations must be completed, and fees must be paid online by May 9. The form and additional details are available at www.nfballet.org/auditions
