Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida is excited to announce Pensacola Cordova Rotary selected us to partner with them for their District grant application. The project, Back to School - Lace Up 4 Kids, will provide shoes and socks for our Littles, as they are returning to school. Proper footwear plays a significant role in enabling children to attend school comfortably and confidently. Thanks to this partnership, we can make sure our Littles are better prepared for their academic journey.
On Saturday, August 19th from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., at Academy Sports + Outdoors - Pensacola, approximately 90 Littles with Big Brothers Big Sisters will be paired with a Rotarian who will help them shop for a new pair of shoes. This one-to-one pairing will foster positive relationships between youth and Rotarians and will allow members to model service to others while promoting integrity, goodwill, and peace.
Proper footwear plays a significant role in enabling children to attend school comfortably and confidently. Without proper shoes that fit, kids can't enjoy the typical experiences of childhood. New shoes do more than you can imagine! New shoes help kids step into childhood with dignity, joy, and confidence. Proper shoes empower children to run free at recess, participate in sports, engage with peers' shame-free, get a boost of confidence, concentrate in class, and experience less stress. Shoes can do so much for kids. It's a simple solution that changes everything!
