Bit-Wizards’ Recent Pen Test Results Prove High Level of Security

Bit-Wizards is proud to announce that they scored a 5 out of 5 on their latest external pen test and a 4.5 out of 5 on their internal pen test. The Managed IT Service provider chooses to undergo a penetration test every six months, allowing an outside company to perform an authorized attack on their network to evaluate its security posture.

“The goal is to try to be one step ahead of the hackers at all times. Instead of going through a vulnerability assessment, which tends to be cheaper and less time consuming, we opt to invest in a penetration test twice a year, which is much more time intensive and expensive. By undergoing consistent penetration testing, we are obtaining unbiased feedback on our security processes. This helps prevent expensive and damaging breaches.”

-Caroline McCoy, Director of Compliance

External pen tests simulate an attacker trying to break into the network from the outside. Internal pen tests evaluate the system from within the network, simulating a malicious insider or an attacker who is successful in breaking the network externally.

Triaxiom Security performs Bit-Wizards’ internal and external penetration tests. For each tactical assessment performed, Triaxiom evaluates Bit-Wizards’ security posture on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 representing significant deficiencies and 5 representing industry best practice:

After the penetration test is complete, Bit-Wizards receives a detailed report from Triaxiom, giving the company a clear understanding of its security posture and any actions that need to be taken. These actions are then prioritized and carried out accordingly.

"From a security perspective, Bit-Wizards has done a phenomenal job increasing their security posture and level of maturity year over year while engaged with Triaxiom Security. They have been amazing to work with because they take any identified vulnerabilities seriously and showcase a true dedication to protecting their network and clients."

By undergoing semi-annual penetration testing, Bit-Wizards continues to go the extra mile to keep its Managed IT Services clients secure. Managed service providers (MSPs) are not required to undergo pen tests at all, much less twice a year, which is why it’s crucial to do your own research and only partner with MSPs that take a proactive approach to IT. Above all, Bit-Wizards seeks to protect clients and their sensitive data by making robust investments in strengthening security and employee training. Learn more.
