DestinFM Named Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador by the National Weather Service

DestinFM is proud to announce that it has been named a NOAA Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador. This designation recognizes DestinFM’s commitment to working with NOAA to strengthen resilience against extreme weather on the Emerald Coast.

As a NOAA Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador, DestinFM will promote readiness for hazardous weather within its organization and community. The station will also work with NOAA to share success stories and educate Destin residents on severe weather
preparedness.

“We are honored to be named a NOAA Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador,” said DestinFM CEO Billy Surf Martin. “This designation is a testament to our team’s dedication to providing our listeners with the information they need to stay safe during
severe weather events. Our Chief Meteorologist, Alberto Romero, brings unmatched expertise to Northwest Florida, and we are committed to broadcasting severe weather information on DestinFM as it happens. It is a responsibility we take very seriously.”

The Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador initiative is a key component of NOAA’s overall effort to build a more resilient nation. By working with partners like DestinFM, NOAA is helping to ensure that everyone has the information and resources they need
to stay safe during severe weather events.
