The Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center (ECCAC) recently awarded Frank Flautt one of their top honors. It was at ECCAC’s Gala this year at the Sandestin Hilton where Flautt was recognized as the 5th annual Zeke Bratkowski humanitarian award recipient. Bratkowski was an NFL professional football player, and an assistant coach in the NFL for over two decades. He passed away in 2019, and was a passionate supporter of ECCAC, founding their first gala and golf event in 1999.
The newest recipient of this prestigious award, Flautt is a graduate of the University of Memphis. He has embarked on a major a career in hospitality since 1963. Beginning around 1990 in the Northwest Florida area, Flautt focused his efforts with his other venture, Sandcastle Resorts. He is a visionary that helped pioneer the Emerald Coast as a premier resort area, including being one of the founding partners of the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Sandestin. He is also a generous philanthropic with a steadfast commitment to the community, including ECCAC.
Flautt commented, “My gratitude is extended to the ECCAC board and staff of the two centers. The work the centers do, its leadership, and its results are worthy of my support. Getting an award for something you want to do is icing on the cake. It has been Brenda’s and my joy to be a part of ECCAC’s ministry. Let’s keep moving and solve the problem for good. Brenda and I are in your corner!”
“Zeke would be so honored to know Frank received his award, both are faithful men doing God’s work to make the world a better place for others, especially children,” said ECCAC CEO Julie Porterfield. “I met Frank Flautt in 2000, and since then he has become a part of us, our mission, and positively impacting the lives of thousands of children. We are so grateful and thankful to Frank, and his wife Brenda, for their kindness, generosity, and support.”
ECCAC’s mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect, protect children in Okaloosa and Walton Counties, and restore the lives and futures of these impacted children. In ECCAC’s 24+ year history, over 17,000 children have received more than 170,000 services at no cost.
