Last week, we got some very exciting updates that I couldn’t wait to share with our SOF Missions family!
As of January 17, the Veterans Comprehensive Act of 2020 has FINALLY been activated!
Among other things, this act allows veterans in suicidal crises to go to ANY healthcare facility for FREE emergency health care.
This means that, with your support, we’ll be able to get more help for our nation’s warriors around the country than ever before!
You can catch an interview where I had the chance to talk about these updates on ABC Action News right
here
1. The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs has promised to offer world-class quality care for our veterans when they return home from service.
2. Any veteran enduring a crisis can now receive care at a VA medical facility or a NON-VA medical facility. This includes inpatient or crisis residential care for up to 30 days and outpatient care for up to 90 days.
3. By making care more easily available for all our warriors, we are believing this HAS to put a dent in the veteran suicide epidemic.
This act is a big deal for those of us who have served — especially for our veterans who are currently walking through a crisis situation.
The latest VA report shows over 6,000 veterans died by suicide in 2020.
We know we still have a long way to go to STOP this epidemic, but with this exciting next step ... we are on our way!
Thank you to each of you who have stood with us in prayer for this. We’re so grateful for your generosity, support and encouragement to help our veterans find purpose and become resilient all across the country.
