Lee Curtis Promoted to Director of Development at ECCAC

The Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center (ECCAC) recently announced the promotion of Lee Curtis as their Director of Development.

Curtis has been with ECCAC since 2022 in a marketing capacity with a well-proven track record. This new leadership role will increase her responsibilities by working to cultivate and maintain relationships with major gift donors and businesses. She will also oversee fundraising events, membership programs, collaborate with ECCAC’s Board of Directors, and other areas pertinent to maintaining an ambassador role in the community.

A native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and a graduate of the University of Alabama, Curtis has lived in the Destin area for over twenty years and has an 12-year old son. During that time, she was actively involved as a local banker with Regions and specialized in everyday banking, lending and private wealth management. In the last several years, prior to joining ECCAC, Curtis obtained her real estate license and worked with buyers and sellers in the Northwest Florida area with Pinnacle Beach Properties.

Curtis’ community involvement has also been notable. Serving in numerous capacities with the Walton Area Chamber, she was on their Board of Directors, Chairman of their mentoring program, a graduate of Leadership Walton Class and an Ambassador. As well, she has had an active role with the Junior League of the Emerald Coast and served on The ARC of the Emerald Coast’s Board of Directors and as an advisor.

Julie Porterfield, ECCAC’s CEO commented, “Lee’s knowledge, capabilities and enthusiasm will serve her well. I’m grateful for Lee’s willingness to take a leadership role with ECCAC.  She is well suited for this new responsibility and will be an asset to help enhance the lives of the children we serve.”

ECCAC’s mission is to heal and prevent the trauma of childhood abuse and neglect by providing advocacy, child-friendly therapies, and a safe environment for kids to feel seen, heard, and understood. In 2023 alone, ECCAC assisted 1,585 kids and 17,480 students received Safety Matters prevention education in area schools. Though ECCAC doesn’t house children, they provide services to children and their families at no cost in their Okaloosa and Walton County centers.
