Ascension Sacred Heart Foundation’s first Wine Down Wednesday raises $10,000 for the Emerald Coast NICU and Family Birth Place

On September 27 Ascension Sacred Heart Foundation hosted a Wine Down Wednesday event benefiting Sacred Heart Emerald Coast Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Family Birth Place. The first-time event, held at Ambrosia 30A in Inlet Beach, raised $10,000 through ticket sales, donations, and raffle tickets.
 
Guests enjoyed heavy hors d'oeuvres, glasses of Caymus Wines, and live music by Jacob Mohr, courtesy of Indigo Watercolor. Attendees also had the opportunity to participate in a wine pull, sponsored by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty, featuring wines from local purveyors including 30A, 30A Olive Oil Co., Dry Farm Wines, Good Clean Wine, Gulf Water Wines, Restaurant Paradis, Salty Girls Beverages, and Wellness Mama.
 
“It was amazing to see the community come together to support the Family Birth Place and NICU. ,” said Dr. Philip Tatum, Neonatologist.“We also appreciate the generosity of Ambrosia for hosting this spectacular evening.”
 
The NICU, opened in 2020, includes a comprehensive group of caregivers that specialize in caring for newborns. Care teams can now treat infants born prematurely up to 10 weeks early and/or who weigh slightly more than 3 pounds. The Emerald Coast Family Birth Place delivers personalized care for women before, during and after their pregnancy.The hospital is consistently recognized as one of the top maternity hospitals in the country. The money raised from this event will go towards their mission to provide the utmost, specialized care to mothers and their babies.
