The Okaloosa Arts Alliance (OAA) would like to invite all Okaloosa County School students to participate in the 14th Annual OAA Okaloosa County School Poster Contest. The theme for the contest is “What art means to me”. It can be anything you can create on paper with markers, pencils, paint, pastels, charcoal, mixed media, or crayons.
There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for elementary school students (K-4th), middle school students (5th-8th), and high school students (9th-12th) in Okaloosa County. Each winner in each division will win a cash prize. Additionally, the 1st place winners’ artwork will be posted in the OAA newsletter and on the OAA website.
Any Okaloosa County School student (public, private, and homeschool) grades kindergarten through 12th grade can enter; entries can be submitted by an Okaloosa County School or by an individual student. The poster contest deadline is April 21, 2023. Please submit only one entry per student. Posters need to include the name of the artist, their grade, and the name of their school on the front of each entry or attached directly below the poster. Please mail your entries to Okaloosa Arts Alliance-Poster Contest, P.O. Box 4426, FWB, FL 32549. If you prefer to drop off your entry(s) please take them to HH Arts at 100 Beal Pkwy SW, Fort Walton Beach (near Hwy 98). Hours are 10 am-3 pm Tuesday through Saturday. They are closed on Sunday and Monday.
All poster contest entries will be on display from Saturday evening, April 22, 2023, at Enlightened Studios located at 142 Miracle Strip Parkway SE, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548 until the evening of May 6, 2023. Winners will be announced, and prizes awarded at the intermission of Okaloosa’s Got Talent, approximately 7:30 pm on May 6th at Enlightened Studios.
