Shane Moody Named State Chamber Association's Executive of the Year

The Florida Association of Chamber Professionals (FACP) awarded Destin Chamber President & CEO Shane A. Moody (right), CCE, FCCP, with its prestigious Executive of the Year Award, during the organization’s Annual Conference, held September 24-25, 2024, at the Boca Raton Marriott at Boca Center in Boca Raton, FL. The award was presented by FACP Chair-Elect Noel Martinez, President & CEO of the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce. 

The award recognizes a chamber executive who has made outstanding contributions to the world and work of chamber management. Awardees must meet several criteria, including strong internal administration and organization, the ability to maintain an increased membership, development of a strategic plan, and an ability to recruit, motivate and reward volunteers. 

A few of Moody's accomplishments during his 31-year chamber career include being a two-time winner of the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) Top Mid-Sized Chamber Award for Excellence; achieving the top three designations for chamber of commerce professionals, including CCE, FCCP, and IOM; serving on various boards and committees of the state and international chamber of commerce associations, including chairman of FACP in 2010-2011; achieving the Destin Chamber's highest total membership dollars and highest number of Trustee members in 2023; and consulting with many chambers across the state on board trainings and tiered dues implementation.

It’s very humbling to be recognized with this award and is truly a testament to all of the coaches, mentors and teachers I’ve be able to meet and from whom I’ve learned. It is, without a doubt, an honor, and is an organizational award, not an individual award," said Moody.

He is admired by his team and is not afraid to make the tough decisions that must sometimes be made by a leader. He has proudly served this industry for more than 30 years, and he truly believes in the mission of chambers,” said Tammy Bracewell, FACP President.
