The Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center (ECCAC) recently announced its newest Board of Directors member Shannon Amos.
Originally from Tennessee, Amos moved to the Florida Panhandle in 2005, where she has been a Destin resident with her husband and their 10-year-old daughter. They also have three adult children. Amos is currently a real estate agent with World Impact Real Estate. She and her husband, Dr. Warren Amos, a radiation oncologist with Genesiscare, are in the real estate investment and rental arena with their two companies, Lullaby Properties and Lullaby Rentals, with Amos serving as the Managing Partner. Prior to her real estate career, with her Master’s Degree from the University of Tennessee in speech-language pathology, Amos was the owner of Speech & Swallowing Services, LLC.
Amos has been very involved in the community. She served on the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation (DCWAF) Board until 2021 and still serves as a DCWAF Trustee. Currently, she is an Impact 100 member, a 7F Foundation member and now the ECCAC Board.
“I have learned through my various experiences with non-profit organizations in the community, that we can make a positive impact in the lives of those less fortunate,” said Amos. “With my 17 years in the healthcare industry, I have experience with case management, familial diversity, and human sensitivity. Above all, I hope to bring a very caring and giving heart to ECCAC and the families they serve.”
Julie Porterfield, CEO of ECCAC commented, “With Shannon Amos’s long-standing involvement in the community, and her business expertise, she will bring so much knowledge and experience to our Board of Directors. We are pleased to have her with us.”
ECCAC provides services in a child-friendly environment to help identify, treat, and support children in abusive situations in Walton and Okaloosa counties. Its two centers in Niceville and DeFuniak Springs do not house children, but house a multidisciplinary team of child protection personnel, prosecutors, law enforcement, DCF, therapists, ECCAC staff and volunteers. The 501-C-3 non-profit organization has provided more than 170,000 services at no cost to 15,000+ children during the past 23+ years.
