Women United Makes a Difference in Local Teens' Lives

United Way Emerald Coast's Women United hosted their first EmpowHER Seminar on Saturday, April 22nd, at Crestview High School. The event aimed to empower teenagers with mental health resources and education. Women United selected Crestview as the location for the event due to the high caseloads carried by mental health counselors in the area.

The seminar featured interactive workshops and presentations from partner organizations donating their time to support the cause. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions, share their experiences, and connect with others who are going through similar struggles. Of the girls who attended, 92% reported that the seminar positively impacted their self-worth, self-esteem, confidence, and mental health.

"Special thanks to our Women United members for putting on this event!” said Kelly Jasen, President & CEO of United Way Emerald Coast. "Their dedication and passion for this cause made an incredible difference in the lives of local teens today."

Women United's mission is to provide mental health resources, access and education to women and girls in Okaloosa and Walton Counties. If you’re interested in supporting their cause, join them for their "Brunch & Bubbly" fundraiser presented by Cox on May 7th at The Venue by Beach Weekend in Fort Walton Beach.
